About
Gemini is the third sign in the zodiac. The astrological sign Gemini comes from the Latin word meaning “twins.” In Greek and Roman stories, it is represented as the twins Castor and Pollux. They are also known as Lugal-Ira, which means “mighty king”. People born under the Gemini sign are often considered very resilient and full of energy.
History
A god named Zeus mated with Leda and gave birth to Pollux, while Leda’s husband, Tyndareus, gave birth to Castor. Pollux requested Zeus to make Castor immortal by linking him to the stars. NASA launched Project Gemini in 1961; this spacecraft was meant for two astronauts, hence the name Gemini.
