About
India is a South Asian country with a history dating back 55,000 years. It is one of only two countries with a population of more than 1 billion. The British ruled India from 1757 until independence in 1947. India is home to the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world. It has a mix of cultures, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and ancient empires like the Mauryas and the Guptas.

This land is very diverse, with four biodiversity hotspots and protected areas for wildlife. About 80% of India’s people practice Hinduism. Its film industry, called Bollywood, produces more than 1,000 films every year. You’ll only find white tigers in India.
